Dateline Bordentown
Joseph F. Harcar passed away on February 3, 2018. He was 98 years old.
He was born in Trenton, NJ in 1919, the oldest of eight children. He was married to the late Eleanor Harcar and had two sons, Richard J. Harcar and the late James P. Harcar, and was grandfather to Meghan Harcar McGinn and Katherine Harcar. He is survived by three sisters, Mary, Eleanor and Mildred.
He served in The United States Army in World War II and was a career employee of The United States Postal Service. He was a longtime member of both Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Trenton, NJ and of St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown, NJ. He was very active in both his church and community serving as President of both the St. Mary’s and Township Senior Citizens Clubs, arranging and assisting with many events and trips. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bordentown Council #570.
Donations maybe made in Joseph’s name to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. Friends and family may gather Tuesday morning 9:30 till the start of Mass at the Church.Burial will be private.
