Alvah H. Scully passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday afternoon September 1, 2018 after spending a lovely evening on Friday visiting & reminiscing with her special friend Gene.

Born in Columbus, Alvah moved to Detroit after her marriage and then lived in Bordentown for many years, before moving to Surf City NJ.

She was employed with NJ DOC as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1983. Alvah was an avid Poker, Bridge and scrabble player. She was a former member of St. Mary’s PTA, Altar Rosary Society and Deborah. Alvah thoroughly enjoyed her days at her home in Surf City.

But her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by many.

Daughter of the late, Edward T Royce Jr. and wife Emily S. Royce, she is predeceased by her husband John J Scully Jr., her son Randall J. Scully and her brother Edward T Royce III. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Beth A. and Daryl Bell, Sharon Scully, her son and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lexer Scully, Natalie Scully, her grandchildren, Dawn Mabin (Mark), Chris Bell (Maureen) Brandy Corbo, Denise Adams (Nathan), Maribeth McDonald (Chris) 13 great-grandchildren Kiley, Michaela & Luke Mabin, Madison, Conor & Tyler Bell, Nicholas, Joey, & Anthony Corbo Grant & Dakota McDonald, Travis & Colin Adams, a special friend Gene D’Allessandro, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be remembered for always acsknowledging family birthdays with a card.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday September 7, 2018 11:00am at Mary Mother of the church parish 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 6:00~8:00pm and on Friday morning 9:30~10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
