Franklin Harold Wainwright – May 14, 1928 to February 23, 2019
Franklin (Frankie) was born on the family farm in Columbus, NJ and lived in Columbus his entire life. He was very active in 4-H as a youth where he specialized in judging livestock. He was selected to represent New Jersey at the annual 4-H convention in Chicago, IL in 1948 where he met Mr. J. L. Kraft, founder of Kraft Foods.
Frankie met Rose Emily (Dallas) on the steps of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bordentown, NJ in May of 1945. They courted for two years and wed on August 10, 1947. It was a marriage that produced two children (Linda Rose in ’50 and Keith Franklin in ’55), and lasted until Rose’s death in 2016.
Frankie was an active member of the Bordertown Elks Lodge #2085 for 42 years and was involved in numerous charities and committees, specifically running the lodge’s bingo operation that produced hundreds of thousands of dollars in educational scholarships during his tenure.
